Konyaaltı Beach
Konyaaltı is Antalya’s own beach — seven kilometers of coastline at the base of the Beydağları mountains, with the Taurus peaks visible above the tree line on clear days. The water quality is consistently excellent and the combination of depth, clarity and color is as good as any beach in the region. Lara Beach
Lara is the resort beach of Antalya proper — 12 kilometers of fine sand running east of the city, shallow water for a long distance from shore, and full resort infrastructure along its length. The public sections at the western end are free; beach clubs charge for sunbeds. The Düden waterfall, where the river drops directly into the sea at the eastern end, is one of Antalya’s most photographed natural features — accessible by boat from Lara or on foot from above. Phaselis
Phaselis is the beach that justifies the phrase ‘the past is always underfoot.’ The ancient Lycian city occupies a forested headland between three bays — and the ruins are scattered directly around the beaches, so that you walk from the cove, follow a pine-shaded path, and find yourself at the arched entrance to a Roman aqueduct. The three beaches each have a different character: the northern harbor is calm and good for children; the central beach is the most atmospheric; the southern harbor is best for snorkeling over the ancient port remains. Olympos Beach
Olympos is not like other Antalya beaches. The ancient Lycian city sits directly alongside the beach, its ruins partly overgrown with pine and laurel. The beach is backed by the national park forest, there are no large hotels in the valley, and the accommodation that exists is mostly wooden treehouses and small pensions in orange groves. The Chimaera — the natural eternal flames that have been burning for at least 2,500 years — are 30 minutes’ climb above the valley and most dramatic after dark. Kaputaş Beach
Kaputaş is the photograph that appears in every Turkish tourism campaign, and the reality is that the photograph is accurate. The beach sits at the base of a gorge where the Kaputaş stream meets the Mediterranean, accessible by 187 steps cut into the cliff face. The combination of the gorge walls, the pine forest above them, and the turquoise-to-blue gradient of the water creates a color palette that is almost impossible to believe until you’re standing in it. Cleopatra Beach, Alanya
The name comes from the story — reliable or not — that Mark Antony had sand shipped from Egypt as a gift for Cleopatra when she visited this coast. The beach is one of the finest stretches of sand on the Turkish Riviera: fine, golden, two kilometers long, sheltered by the Alanya peninsula, and Blue Flag certified. The Alanya Castle, the most dramatically sited medieval fortress in Türkiye, rises 250 meters above the sea from the headland to the east. Alanya is 135km east — bus from Antalya’s otogar or hire car along the D400 coast road.

Adrasan Cove

Tekirova sits in the Kemer district, 40 kilometers southwest of Antalya, and has developed into one of the more relaxed resort areas on the coast — large enough to have full facilities and a long beach, without the concentration of mega-hotels that characterizes Lara or parts of Alanya. The beach is a mix of sand and pebble, well-maintained, with the Taurus mountains as a dramatic backdrop. Phaselis is 10 kilometers south, making Tekirova the logical base for those who want both a proper beach holiday and convenient access to the best archaeological beach on the coast.
