A new era begins with Pegasus’ “Flying into the Future” project
“Flying into the Future”, the social responsibility project launched by Pegasus Airlines to support ideas around youth empowerment, is beginning its third term. Within the scope of the project, which will be co-organised by the Support Foundation for Civil Society (STDV) between February 2022 and March 2023, Pegasus will offer support to three non-governmental organisations (NGOs) for their online or in-person projects directly aimed at young people between the ages of 18 and 29. NGOs can apply with their own projects on the website www.yarinlaraucuyoruz.com.
The applications will go through a technical pre-selection process based on the evaluation criteria, after which the winners will be selected by the project’s Evaluation Board. Projects that intersect with the youth field and also contribute to other issues of core importance to Pegasus Airlines, such as gender equality and the environment, will be given priority during the selection process. As part of the “Flying into the Future” project, the projects that aim to empower young people come under three different themes: "Protecting the environment and combating against climate change", "the well-being of young people" and "digital literacy and digital security".
More comprehensive support
Commenting on the announcement, Pegasus Airlines CEO Mehmet T. Nane said: “We care greatly for young people and believe wholeheartedly in the importance of supporting them so that they can make a valuable contribution to society. In the third term of our “Flying into the Future” project, which we have launched with these thoughts in mind, we aim to offer comprehensive support to non-governmental organisations (NGOs) that work with a youth focus. Our primary goal is to contribute to the empowerment of our youth who are demoralised as a result of the pandemic, in particular.”
