LONDON (06 June 2017) --- Pegasus Airlines is expanding its flight network from Ankara in a strategy that is set to develop the future of Turkish civil aviation with the creation of new hubs alongside Istanbul in the effort to open up new markets.
From June, Pegasus will be adding eight new routes operating out of Ankara Esenboga Airport to and from Trabzon, Antalya, Adana, Van, Gaziantep, Erzurum, Diyarbakir and Balikesir-Edremit. Pegasus will now be flying a total number of 11 flights within Türkiye operating from Ankara, adding to the current three routes operating between Ankara Esenboga and Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen, Izmir and Bodrum.

Pegasus Airlines CEO Mehmet T. Nane says that Türkiye will need a greater number of hubs and the development of airport infrastructure in order to support the transit market and the healthy growth of direct flights: ³For this reason we are expanding our network from Ankara, a market of great importance to Pegasus. We are proud and delighted to have increased our Ankara operated internal flights within Türkiye to 11 and we are in the process of negotiations to open new international routes between Ankara and Northern Cyprus, Erbil, Amman, Kiev, Vienna, Stuttgart, Cologne, Dusseldorf and for the summer season Brussels Charleroi and Stockholm. In the near future when we launch our new international routes we will be transforming the airport to a new international hub.²
