As of 18 March 2016, Mehmet Tevfik Nane will commence his role as Pegasus Airlines General Manager, succeeding departing General Manager Sertaç Haybat. Sertaç Haybat will maintain his position as a member of the Pegasus Board of Directors.
Pegasus’ Chairman of the Board of Directors Ali Sabancı commented; “Sertaç Haybat has made a significant contribution to every single member of the Pegasus Family; he has been involved in all the important company decisions and as leader of the firm he has built the Pegasus’ brand to where it is today. The Pegasus Family has achieved great things over the past 11 years under the leadership of Sertaç Haybat, whose legacy is to have created a long-term and sustainable strategy which has led to Pegasus’ great success. Pegasus is now a firm part of the Turkish society. As the Pegasus Family, we are tremendously thankful to him.
Pegasus’ business plan will remain unaffected in the period ahead and we will continue be pioneers at the forefront of the aviation industry.
Mehmet Tevfik Nane will be commencing his role as General Manager as of 18 March 2016. Although he is new to the aviation sector, he has achieved great successes in a range of highly competitive sectors prior to joining us.

Mehmet Tevfik Nane served as General Manager and Head of the Executive Committee at CarrefourSA between June 2013 and February 2016. Prior to that he served as Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors at Teknosa, starting from the company’s incorporation in 2000 until 2005, and thereafter was General Manager and Head of the Executive Committee. Between 1997 and 2005, Mehmet Tevfik Nane assumed various duties in the Sabancı Group, including Vice-President responsible for planning, business development and projects, Retail Group Director and Corporate Secretary of H.Ö. Sabancı Holding. Prior to 1997, he held several positions in the banking sector in Türkiye Emlak Bankası, Demirbank and Demir Investment.
Mehmet Tevfik Nane holds an undergraduate degree in International Relations from Boğaziçi University, a Master’s degree in International Banking and Finance from Heriot Watt University of Scotland and participated in the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program (AMP) in 2013.
