Pegasus’ turnover reached over 691 million TL in Q1 of 2016, translating to 19% year-on-year growth.
Pegasus Airlines has announced its Q1 financial results for 2016. In Q1, Pegasus achieved a turnover of 691,100,801 Turkish Liras, growing by 19% year-on-year. Pegasus has increased the number of guests carried in the first quarter of 2016 by 18.6% year=on=year to 5.36 million.
Commenting on the announcement of the financial results, Pegasus Airlines CEO Mehmet T. Nane said; “During what is regarded as the quietest season in the sector, we have implemented strategies that have helped us increase our aircraft utilisation and the share of our ancillary revenue in total revenue. We’ve outlined our business strategy for the upcoming period. All our teams are well-equipped to further improve our service quality during the busy summer months.”
In Q1 of 2016, Pegasus operated a total of 39,249 flights, increasing its number of guests flying on domestic routes in Türkiye by 21.5% year-on-year to 3.48 million; and increasing its guests flying on its international routes by 13.7% year-on-year to 1.88 million. Pegasus’ overall market share of the Turkish aviation sector on domestic routes in Türkiye rose to 30.2% whilst its market share on international routes from Türkiye rose to 13.4%. In Q1 of 2016, Pegasus’ ancillary revenue per capita increased by 16% in real terms and the airline witnessed a 38% increase in total ancillary revenue turnover compared to the same period in 2015. In Q1, Pegasus reduced its costs for available seats per kilometres to €3.82, a decrease of 11%.
