Programme highlights include Krasnoyarsk State Opera’s Carmen, Ankara State Opera and Ballet’s Hamlet, Los Vivancos’ epic flamenco-induced first-ever performance of Aeternum, all set against the backdrop of the historic Castle of St Peter.
Pegasus Airlines PWA World Cup (17–22 Aug 2015), Izmir – Every year between 8,000 and 10,000 professional and amateur windsurfers from the USA, Australia and Europe flock to the turquoise waters of Alacati Bay to participate in a variety of internationally recognised windsurfing competitions or to hone their skills.
Aspendos Opera and Ballet Festival (5–28 Sep 2015), Antalya – Held in one of the best-preserved Roman amphitheatres in the world that was built during the reign of Marcus Aurelius, the Aspendos Theatre's incomparable acoustics have wowed many international guests over the years. This year's programme includes Ankara State Opera and Ballet performing Hamlet and Ali Baba & 40, Soul Mate by Korean National Opera and the Grigorovich Company's Spartacus among other highly anticipated performances.
Golden Orange Film Festival (10–18 Oct 2015), Antalya – Turkey’s oldest and most prestigious film festival, also known as the ‘Turkish Oscars’. A significant date on the international calendar, Golden Orange has previously hosted such prominent actors and directors as Francis Ford Coppola, Helen Mirren and Kevin Spacey. The festival includes international, national and documentary film competitions, screenings and discussion panels.
Bodrum Cup Regatta (19– 24 Oct 2015), Bodrum – This year's Bodrum Regatta promises to be as exciting as ever with more than 100 yachts and 1500 participants racing in this five-day tournament. A unique international yacht regatta and annual tradition celebrating the end of the cruising season in Turkey, the races unite Bodrum’s charter fleet with private wooden yachts from around the world.
Marmaris International Yacht Races (25-30 Oct 2015), Dalaman – In Marmaris, summer stretches out all the way to November with the town’s sunny days averaging at 300 a year. The popular seaside town Marmaris has been hosting the biggest sailing event in the region for over 20 years and this year will see over a hundred IRC boats and over a thousand sailors compete.
