Sarajevo International Film FestivalSarajevo International Film Festival This year, the Sarajevo International Film Festival, one of Bosnia Herzegovina’s major film festivals, will be the meeting place for cinema lovers both young and old.
Have you ever wondered what can be done to heal the wounds of war? The Sarajevo International Film Festival first arose from the ashes in 1995, the last year of the war, so it’s fair to assume that Bosnia Herzegovina’s answer to that question was, ‘Open your hearts to cinema!’ The festival that came about in order to revive society will this year bring cinema fans together for the twenty-first time. The Sarajevo International Film Festival screens films from over seventy countries and pulls in audiences like a magnet from over thirty countries. Even more, let’s not forget to mention that Sarajevo International Film Festival holds a special place for young hearts; it screens films specially chosen for kids and organises workshops to infuse them with a passion for cinema. Of the nine different venues that screen the festival’s films, the nostalgic air of the HT Eronet Open Air Cinema will most affect you. We promise you that.
