Bahrain Visa Types

Visitors can apply for a variety of different visas, depending on their purposes of visit. Two of the most commonly applied Bahrain visa categories are:

• Tourist Visa: Citizens of non-GCC countries who wish to travel to Bahrain for tourism or business visit purposes must apply for a tourist visa. Transit visas are also listed under the category of Tourist Visa.
• Work Visa: Foreign nationals who wish to work in Bahrain must apply for a Work Visa. This visa allows its holder to travel to Bahrain and stay within the country for employment purposes.

• Passport copy (including family and info pages)
• Confirmed return ticket
• Hotel booking or relative/friend’s ID reader printout

Bahrain Visa Rules

In addition to the required documents, there are also certain visa rules you must know before applying for a Bahrain visa:

• You must apply for the visa outside of Bahrain,
• Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your intended stay,
• You cannot take on employment on a visit visa.

Bahrain Visa Requirements

Bahrain requires a visa for citizens of all countries. While most travellers are eligible for a visa on arrival, citizens of Iran, North Korea, and Kosovo must apply for a physical visa in advance. Citizens of Belarus are not eligible for a visa on arrival either, but they can apply for an e-visa.

The only exception to Bahrain’s visa requirement is for GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) nationals, who can enter the country using only their national ID cards.
