Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus

Wondering if you need a passport to go to Cyprus? If you're a Turkish citizen, you don't need a passport to travel to Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Georgia

If you want to take a trip to Georgia, you can enter the country without a visa for up to 1 year. You can also travel there without a passport; presenting your ID card is enough to enter the country. However, please note that only new, chipped photo cards will be accepted.

Azerbaijan

With the declaration published in Official Gazette dated June 3, 2020, you can travel visa-free to Azerbaijan, with your new, chipped photo ID card. With this visa exemption, citizens of the two countries can enter and exit without a passport, provided that they don't stay for more than 90 days. A residency permit is required if staying for more than 90 days.

Moldova

Moldova is the last country on our list that Turkish citizens can travel to without a visa with just a chipped ID card. You can enter the country visa free as long as you don't stay for more than 90 days. If you plan on staying for more than 90 days, you'll need to get a visa, depending on what type of passport you have.

Is it possible to travel abroad without a passport?

Yes, you can go abroad without a passport. Turkish citizens can to countries that offer passport-free travel, and allow entry with just an identity card.

However, Ukraine and Moldova only accept ID cards with chips for passport-free travel.

How can I go abroad without a passport?

All you need to do is fill out an exit form provided at the border gate and pay the exit stamp fee to travel without a passport.

Be sure to keep the form stamped by border officials safe until your return to Turkey.

Note: To avoid any issues when travelling to a country that doesn't require a passport for entry, be sure to keep a photocopy of your information and return ticket with you.
