Azerbaijan Visa Types

Azerbaijan issues a variety of visas for visitors with different purposes of visit. Following are the two main categories of Azerbaijan visa:

• Entry Visa: Issued for those who are planning to travel to Azerbaijan for a certain period of time. Entry Visa has three subcategories (ordinary, service, diplomatic) and each subcategory has its own procedures.
• Transit Visa: This visa allows foreigners and stateless persons to transit through the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan to a third country.

General Documents Required for Azerbaijan Visa

Following is a list of general documents required for an Azerbaijan visa. Remember that there might be additional documentation required, depending on the visa you're applying for.

• Completed Visa Application Form (available via the Visa Application Portal).
• Passport or Travel Document (valid for at least 3 months beyond the visa’s validity) + copies of main pages.
• Two Colour Biometric Photos (3x4 cm).
• Medical Insurance Certificate (if not covered by host).
• Proof of State Fee Payment for visa processing.
• Invitation Documents (if applicable):
  • Invitation application by the inviting party.
  • For NGOs: State registration certificate copy.
  • Purpose of Invitation Document (not required for transit, tourism, official, or personal visas).
• Additional Documents relevant to visa purposes (Articles 25–34 of the Migration Code).
• For Minors (under 18) traveling without a parent/legal guardian:
  • Notarized birth certificate.
  • Parental/guardian consent.
  • Copies of parents’ or legal representatives’ IDs.
