Qatar Visa Types

Qatar has different visa types for various purposes of visit. The two most common visa types are the Tourist Visa (Type A1) and the GCC Resident Visa (Type A2).

Tourist visa (Type 'A1')

This visa type allows the visitor to enter and stay within Qatar for tourism purposes. Holder of an A1 Visa cannot carry out any gainful activities or overstay their visa. You can apply for this visa using the Hayya platform.

GCC Resident Visa (Type 'A2')

A GCC Resident Visa is issued for the residents of other GCC countries. Like an A1 Visa, an A2 Visa can also be obtained via Hayya.

General Requirements to Apply for Qatar Visa

If you are not from one of the eligible countries for visa-free travel, you need to apply for an e-visa through the online platform Hayya. During your online application, you will be asked to submit the following information:

• Passport or travel document,
• Residency information,
• Accommodation,
• Contact information.

Once you submit all the necessary documents, you can expect to hear back about your application within a couple of weeks.

Step-by-Step Qatar Visa Application

You can apply for a Qatar e-visa in 7 very easy steps:

1. Visit hayya.qa and create an account.
2. Choose “Tourist Visa (A1)” and enter your travel details.
3. Upload your passport photo and a copy of your passport.
4. Provide accommodation details and an emergency contact.
5. Pay the QAR 100 visa fee.
6. Receive your Hayya Entry Permit by email.
7. Ensure your passport is valid for at least 3 months from your entry date.

Requirements to Enter Qatar

Once you receive confirmation of your visa, you can travel to Qatar without any restrictions. Still, you need to provide the following documents when entering the country:

8. A passport with a minimum of 3 months of validity, starting from the date of arrival in the State of Qatar,
9. Proof of accommodation (Hotel booking through "Discover Qatar" or Hosted by Family and Friends),
10. Return flight ticket,
11. Hayya E-Visa.

Qatar Visa Rules

In addition to the documents mentioned above, there are several rules you must know about Qatar visa:

• When checking your nationality on the official Visit Qatar website, it is important to note that "Enter visa-free" or "Visa not required" means you will still go through a free visa-on-arrival process,
• The validity of your travel document must be at least three months and cover your trip,
